The Property was purchased in late 2014 and was a run down 1960’s Bungalow that was tired and needed some much needed updating. Architects Atelier Ltd was appointed to undertake a full internal and external refurbishment of the bungalow. The client commanded an 180 degree view across the South Downs.
Architects Atelier designed a double height apex roof extension with a full glass wall to make the most of the views across the countryside. The bungalow’s main building was built using red brick and Grey Tiles. Architects Atelier’s Approach was to compliment this brick with a Blue Grey Timber Cladding feature extension that has a striking impact on the brick and settles the extension into the countryside. The Extension is married with a large Maranda and steps to connect the house with Alpaca fields beyond. As Part of the design the internal rearrangement allowed for the creation of a large Kitchen/ Dining area for the home using modest kitchen units and local suppliers for the granite worktops. This was separated by a false wall to the ceiling that helped enclose the space and focus you view to the country side. The Living room was then doubled in size allowing for flexibility between formal entertaining and relaxing with the family in front of the fire place.
